Rotunda Harvest Table

Written by artisan range. Posted in Completed Projects

The Rotunda is a community led centre for formal and informal learning for all ages, founded in 1986. It successfully provides alternative, multilayered solutions to the problems local people face. They support people to improve their aspirations, opportunities and quality of life.

As part of the investment in the refurbishment they have a small, modern garden bistros situated in the Rotunda Heritage Centre, serving a range of teas and nice coffees, full breakfast, panini's, sandwiches, salads, quiches, burgers and legendary homemade cakes.

As part of a new garden project, Rotunda and their consultants, BCG Landscaping have commissioned Total Reuse to manufacture a harvest table and benches that will form a focal point within the project that will use outdoor spaces for the health and well being of the local community. It already has an edible garden that will be open to the public and offer gardening classes through it's Community College. Vegetables that have already been grown are being used in the Garden Bistro and it is hoped that any excess will be available on a market stall.

BCA Landscape is a creative landscape design studio with an award winning portfolio of projects that demonstrate their creative vision and extensive experience in Green Infrastructure and Public Realm design and delivery.

The following picture shows the various stages in the manufacturing process:

Cabbage Hall Open For Business

Written by Martin Gamester. Posted in Completed Projects

The former Cabbage Hall public House that fell victim to a suspected arson attack back in 2010 is now open for business. Popular with Liverpool fans due to its close proximity to Anfield Stadium in Liverpool has been fully restored and reopened for business. New owners, Dales Management Company have invested heavily in restoring the building to its former glory and the ground floor bar and restaurant is now open.

Looking for something different, Dales approached Total Reuse to see if we could make a feature mirror to replace the one lost in the fire. We still had some of the timber salvaged from the Vienna Street demolition site and were happy to oblige.

Once Dales realised the full extent of what we could do they asked about tables.

Reuse Cinema

Written by Artisan Range. Posted in Completed Projects

Several weeks ago we were asked by the contract manager overseeing the refurbishment of the Guild of Students, if we could possibly reuse some of the old lecture theater seats to build a cinema in one of the rooms. After scouring the internet, eBay and various long forgotten rooms in University basements we managed to find plenty of things.

Student Guild Reuse Cinema

Written by Martin Gamester. Posted in Completed Projects

The Reuse Cinema project is almost complete with the team designing and installing a 50 seat cinema using reclaimed, diverted and salvaged materials from both the University and closed cinemas from around the UK. It all started with some blank walls:

The first job was to work out how many seats we could fit in and the best position. We managed to accommodate short leg room, extra leg room and wheelchair spaces.

Next was to transfer the design of the poster layout onto the wall.

We managed to get a complete set of pictures from a disused Glasgow cinema that had been displayed in the foyer.

We added a brief biography, film history and signature creating a hall of fame with an old 1970's cinema in use sign.
