Total Reuse are now working in partnership with three local Benson's for Beds stores to provide a bed collection and deconstruction service diverted the customers unwanted beds from landfill.

Bensons for Beds is Britain's favourite bed specialist a company dedicated to ensuring their customers get a great night's sleep and over 50 years' heritage. Originally founded as a general store in 1950 by Cyril Benson, it's first bed center concept opened in 1972.

In 2011, the new Bensons for Beds business was launched, merging the existing Bensons for Beds, Sleepmasters and Bed Shed brands under one umbrella. The company now has over 270 stores nationwide.

Following the closure of another local mattress deconstruction company, the Total Clearance team have taken over the collection of customer 'take back' items. If you purchase a new bed from one of the Merseyside based stores you will be offered the opportunity to have your old bed collected and deconstructed.

Unwanted mattresses are a major issue and 'deconstruction' is an alternative to them being sent to landfill. Approximately 170,000 tonnes of mattresses end up in landfill every year where their non-biodegradable parts remain for many years. Deconstruction separates the component parts and then reuses or recycles them.
